How long after chemo treatments are over does it take hair to grow back?

My mom just got her last chemo treatment last Thursday. She wanted me to find out for her.

DotRMe is right. It depends on a lot of things, including the type and duration of treatment. My husband has been treated for two different kinds of cancer in the past 5 years...each with a different treatment and duration. Both times his hair grew back at different times, at different rates, and just plain different! His normal hair is dark brown, thick and straight as a board. The first time it grew back, it was dark blonde, a little wavy...and eventually got back to normal (after months), but was always a little lighter than before. The second time, it grew back in the same color, but much softer and almost curly. After his first haircut (he let it grow like that for months), it started growing back the same...like prior to any cancer. It's hard to say -- everyone is so different.

It varies for different people. It took me about 1 to 2 months for my hair to grow back. When it did grow back, it came in darker and a little thicker. But, the color hair grows back varies for different people too. However, My hair is a little wavy for now. I had straight hair before I started chemo in Dec. 2004. I think it also depends on how many rounds of chemo a person has to have depending on what kind of cancer they have and what stage the cancer is in. Oh, also, how long (timewise) each round lasts.
