Hair dillemma?

Okay I have a hair dillemma! I have been straghtening my hair for about the past 2 years, and now it has become brittle and very thin. My hair is just below my shoulders, and even when I straighten it after using heat treatment and anti-frizz it still looks vrittle and as though it has split ends ALL the way through/

What sort things can I combatt this with? For example permanently sraightening(I have fine hair though), layering, or a nice cut that gives it more body and looks smoother?

Thankyou sooooo much in advance, pictures would be appreciated and I really need some help!

Hair dillemma?

You have to do some treatments. First never use an iron on wet hair it will burn it, not even damp hair.

You have to get professional products for damaged hair and a reconstructive treatment. The condition your hair is in right now I wouldn't do an chemical service to it at all. So no chemical straiting. Your hair is to damaged and dry. I am going to tell you how to do the treatment and how to clean up the splits.

First if you are growing your hair you should cut your hair every 6 to 8 weeks. To long in-between and you will get to many splits. When you leave splits they just keep splitting and then break off, thus your hair is now shorter. If not growing it cut every 4 to 6 weeks. Your hair grows about 1/2 inch a month. And more during summer.

To clean up the splits higher on the hair shaft:

You need to part your hair into 4 to 6 sections

Take small amounts of hair and gently twist like a rope but do not let it buckle.

Then gently slide fingers up the hair shaft to expose the splits.

Take scissors and cut parallel to the hair shaft. If you cut towards the hair you could cut the hair off.

You may need a friend you can trust to do this for you.

Hair Treatment:

Wash hair

Apply reconstructive treatment

cover head with bag if long hair and cap if short

heat head with blow dryer or alike until hot

cover with towel and let slowly cool

Rinse hair, never rinse hair while hot hair can break off.

Do this every week or more for a month. As your hair gets better do less and less.

Oh my that's a problem, how often do you straighten your hair, that's a sign your doing to much already, I highly recommend getting hair cuts every 7-10 weeks and ask to cut off about an inch off every time, no more than that though, this process will eventually builds the hair shaft strength

Sounds like you should cut as much of it off as you can. Then invest in good in shower conditioners, plus a leave in conditioner during the day. Give your hair a break from the straightening for atleast a month so it can recover and even then, only straighten occasionally.

Use a deep conditioner 2-3 times a week when you wash your hair... get it cut regularly... and try not to use the straightener every day.
