What should I be using in my mixed daughters hair as far as shampoos, conditioners, moisturizers, tr

she is only 3 1/2 years old. her hair on yhe top is a good grade, but the hair in the back is nappy. i've tried a lot of stuff in the past, but nothing seems to help the back. what should I use to wrap her head in at night while shes sleeping?

Her hair texture will change as she ages so be very careful of what you put in her hair! I am mixed and I wish someone told my mom what I am about to tell you! Never brush her hair when it is dry! This aggravates the hair shaft and causes breakage and frizz. Always use a gentle shampoo! Baby shampoo is very good as it is very easy on the hair and cleanses well. Do not put chemicals in her hair! No relaxers or perms! When her hair is wet, use your fingers and a dab of conditioner to shape the curls. Use something gentle - look for conditioners that say "for color treated hair" as these are the most gentle and won't strip hair of it's natural oils. Also, and I know babies can be messy but try not to wash her hair every day! This will strip the hair of it's natural moisture and make it more unruly! On days you don't wash it, refresh the curls with your fingers and a little water. When she sleeps, do not wrap anything tightly around her hair! This actually causes more friction and more frizz. Instead, tie it in a loose ponytail. If her hair isn't long enough yet - let it grow! Many people just want to cut away the bad! Not a good idea! In fact, longer hair adds weight to the curl making it less tight and easier to style because the weight of the hair does most of the work! It should be at least to her mid back (when a curl is pulled straight) for you to get the full benefit. On days you don't want to style her hair, use clips to hold the front sections in place or do a braid (not micro-braids though because these can damage the hair when they are removed). Remember this - the nicer you are to her hair, the nicer it will be to you! Treat her hair well now and it should come out well! Good luck!

Just cute it and trim it. Try oiling it as well. Coconut oil is good. Put a mild shampoo for her. She is a baby. Hair is normally like this until they become 10.
