I have a bi-racial daughter with tight poodle curl. Her hair looks decent when I can afford to get it done but it seems to be dry as straw. It also seems to soak up the lotions and the petroleum based greases. What would be the best treatments and conditioners for her hair daily. I'm trying to make it grow and appear healthy. I'm told by the professionals that she has a good grade of hair. I'm ready to shave her head and start over. Please help for my daughters sake.

honestly, i find that johnsons baby oil at night before a bath really works... and when she bathes afterwards her skin will get moisterized from the oil in the water.. just leave it on for about 15 minutes and give her a bath..dont wash it out until the morning though.. the only problem with this is you have to wash pillow cases often

You can buy a children's relaxer but if you don't want to use chemicals or if you don't know what your doing then don't do that. Ceramic flat irons work very well with a small amount of oil or hair wax. You can also buy a ceramic iron you can use while the hair is still wet. I'm not sure but they may be a lil pricey. Or go to a black hair salon they will have the best help.

I use St. Ives Silk Protein shampoo and conditioner on my daughters hair. She is not biracial, but she has frizzy, very curly, super thick hair. It does great. We also use a Chi sometimes, but not too often, the heat will dry hair out as well. Try a hot oil treatment, but instead of washing it out, leave it in overnight, then wash it out. And as soon as she washes it you need to blow it our straight making sure you apply a product to protect it from the heat first, and then touch up the ends with the straightening iron. If she is too young you may want to try a perm.Do not put rods in just the solution then comb or brush her hair stright leave it for the time that it says.
