Hair dry and frizzy and nothing works!?

so my hair is quite dry and frizzy. im using shampoos and conditioners that are moisture infused and supposed to make my hair better and whatnot, but nothing seems to be working the way i want them to work.. so im thinking of just going to a salon and ask them to give me some kind of treatment to maky my hair less dry and not as frizzy.. do they even have something like that? i dont want to just buy some bottle and use it at home cuz clearly that doesnt work for me.. so what should i do???

A deep conditioning at a salon works well because the haet opens the cuticle and absorbs more. If you color your hair they can put on a clear "refresher" that will seal your cuticle

If your hair is curly you may just need a new hair gel or foam

cut it off. start over and this time dont use hair dryers

Try olive oil. Let your hair soak it in for like an hour.

Don't shampoo everyday, use conditioner instead, try a leave-in conditioner. Shampoo dries hair.

I know how you feel, I have the same problem.

Here is what I found works. I no longer try to straighten my hair, instead I try to use products that allow the curls to develop smoothly and naturally. Like Curls Rock, which makes a leave-in conditioner that also helps reduce frizziness and allows your natural curls to develop softly and smoothly.

However, my friend has one of those MaxiGlide Hair Straighteners and she used it once on my hair and it was fantastic. It made my hair silky and soft and straight as a pin, without using any products. I don't know if it will damage the hair, because it is hot, but the burst of steam is supposed to protect the hair.

I had that same problem until a proffesional stylists gave me a bottle of redken 5th avenue, NYC, All Soft, Shampoo and condtioner. She told me to use it everyday until there is not a drop left. and until this day, my hair has never been like ever again. and it worked great. you can find it all any place that sells chi's, like for example, Wholesale beauty, Sally Beauty Supply, State Beauty Supply...etc. Or you could go to a salin adn try one of there products, or bath and body works and tell them. Hope one of these works. Good Luck! =)

Hair dry and frizzy and nothing works!?

I used to have ridiculously frizzy hair as well until I learned to work with it. Drugstore products work, but only to a certain extent. I use Neutrogena Total Moisture shine serum after I shampoo and condition, which helps some of the frizzies and makes my hair soft and shiny. I also have a ton of anti-frizz creams. Not all anti-frizz creams work on everyone, so you have to keep trying them until you find one that's right for you. As for the dryness, go to a professional salon and ask them to recommend a product for you. I did this and the product worked wonders on my hair. It'll probably be pricey (the conditioner I got was $25), but as any girl will tell you, looking good is expensive but so, so worth it.

Some product examples from my personal experience:

Pantene products don't contain a lot of alcohol (there's none in the conditioners), so they're not as drying as some other brands. Again, the Neutrogena Total Moisture serum is amazing, and for after my hair dries, I use a John Frieda glossing cream on my brunette hair. Don't use too much anti-frizz products though, after shampooing, or your hair will end up heavy and greasy. The expensive conditioner I used was from L'Oreal Paris, and it's available at some Targets now. I can't remember what kind, but it was in a little yellow container with a screw-on cover.

Now remember, this was just me. You'll probably have to try a bunch of different products before you find ones that are right for you. But they're out there somewhere, so don't stop experimenting! Once you find something you like, stick with it. Don't bypass it, thinking there's something better out there.

Oh, and don't style or blow-dry your hair every day. Part of the reason my hair is so healthy is that I never blow-dry it, I always air-dry. All my stylists comment on how soft and healthy my hair is, and they all agree that that's probably the reason why.

Good luck, and here's to great hair!

At home treatments are the best. First let me say..COCONUT. It works wonderfully and I bet none of the hair products have coconut as it's top ingredient. A shampoo with coconut works wonderfully! You can also go to your salon, of course they'd have a moisture treatment, and much more. My hair is a little like that too, but Iove to use leave-in pomegranate conditioners you can buy at Lush or The Body Shop. Both places are very natural in their products, and a shampoo infused with chemicals is the last thing your hair needs. The best hair products, in my opinion, are ones you cannot find in your local drugstore. Try BED HEAD TiGi Moisture Maniac Kit. and Juan Juan shampoo and conditioner is good as well. Try and find a hair magazine and you'll be assured to find out what all the celebs use to control their frizz. Wish you luck!!

First take 2 oz. of olive oil. heat it to a comfortable temp apply it to your hair %26amp; comb it thru. start combing from the ends %26amp; work your way up to aviod tangles %26amp; knots %26amp; putting stress on the hair. then put a plastic cap over your head %26amp; wrap a towel around it. leave it on for at least an hour, do this twice a week until it's the way you want it. shampoo with a good moisture shampoo %26amp; condition with a good moisturizing conditioner. don't forget to alternate your shampoo %26amp; conditioners, or your hair will get adjusted to them %26amp; they'll no longer be beneficial to your hair %26amp; scalp. get yourself a bottle of "Influx" %26amp; spray on before you dry %26amp; style your hair. It's an excelent hair vitamin, conditioner, %26amp; protectent to get your hair in shape again. It's also good to use when your in the sun %26amp; swimming. you can use it on wet or dry hair. GOOD LUCK!
