What can I do about my hair problem?

I use a hair straightener but only wash my hair and use it every OTHER day. I have noticed things that look like little white joints about 1-2 inches from the bottom of my hair. If I just run my fingers down a strand, they break off at that point and become split ends. How can I manage these? Currently, I wash my hair with vive (loreal) shampoo and use a conditioner called "brilliant brunette". I don't protect it before drying (with ionizing dryer) or straightening, but I don't know what a goo dproduct is.

I want to stop my hair from breaking off bc Im trying to grow it. Should I do oil treatments? What do you recommend? I don't have much $$.

The easiest thing to do is to stop straightening your hair.

Use a breakage prevention shampoo and conditioner, like dove, garnier fructis, sunsilk, etc. And TRIM YOUR HAIR! every month...just take like an inch or lesss off.

I recommend cutting your hair a little above the joints. If this is too short I'm sorry I'm not very good at mesurements!

If you want to continue to straighten your hair, you need a thermal protector. There are lots of good ones out there, the choice is yours depending on how much you want to spend. But you need to apply a thermal protector before you use the straightener. Those white ends are your split ends being burnt.

And even though your letting it grow don't forget to get regular trims. There is no point in growing out unhealthy hair!

If you are getting split ends you should get a trim, even if you are trying to grow your hair out, you dont want straggly hair I am sure.

V05 has a good hot oil treatment. You could try that. Also get a good leave in conditioner.

Protection products for a flat iron arent cheap.

You NEED to use heat defence because you are not protecting your hair and it dameges it!

i use Tresemme heat defence smooth.....it is brilliant and i never had any damage for my hair yet!!
