I take care of my hair it is strong and wavy . ihave it cut every 6 wks rarely brush or dry it. my brush is ok it has all its bobbles. my hair is coloured but minimally , a few slices two or three times a year.my hair has always been dry but it only started breaking after i used a strengthening conditioning treatment . i need help . is it better to wear your hair up or down to prevent more damage? i really dont want to have all my hair cut off -its only just past shoulder length .
My hair is split but halfway up not at the ends i dont know what to do!?
Have it down its less damage and if the conditioner is giving you trouble then try a new one.

down does less damage as hair bands can brake hair but if you are inclined to brush and re-fix hair then up would be better use thick bands and not too tight.
wind and sun can dry out hair too i use a UV spry for hair it gets less dry-ed out and less inclined to bleach.

Never use elastic band to tie it back. Invest in good quality hair accessories. Have a salon treatment every 6-8 weeks.
Good Luck

Go see a professional hairstylist! First, they can TRIM your ends off then they can give a recommendation to use for shampoo, conditioner, and styling products. Ask the stylist about what kind of brush to use on your hair too. GOOD LUCK!

get a salon deep condition treatment also buy one for at home and use at least once a week. continue to get hair trimmed. also i could be your diet causing so eat loks more protein. use minimal heat on your hair from dryers etc and protect it from the sun. be as gentle as possible with it. i know you said you didnt want to but i think your best option is to get it cut shorter than you would maybe like but i always think short healthy hair looks a million times better than longer unhealthy hair. good luck with it though

I have the same prob and am dead against cutting my hair :'( Your hair is probably breaking because of the lack of protein.I use Karatase shampoo, the green one for damaged hair.you can buy it online or from a good salon.I also use Redkin Protein Spray and after serum to replace protein in my hair.My hair has been much softer since!Give it a try.It is expensive but if u don't wanna snip ur hair it is worth a go!Good luck!x

If i was you i would get Tigi catwalk oatmeal and honey shampoo and conditioner (it will work wonders), also don't put your hair up wet and when you blow wave it blast it with cold once you are finished. Try not to use hairbands with metal bits or those snag bands.
